At this MWC 2019 conference, the USB-IF Alliance released the USB 3.2 standard, as well as more information technology, new naming, broadband and compatibility of USB 3.2.
The main control supporting USB 3.2 will be launched within this year. It is expected to be the first to appear at the Taiwan Computer Show in June this year and will be used on the next generation of flagship motherboards.
It is understood that USB 3.2, named USB 3.2 Gen 2 *2, is the fastest USB specification at present. The maximum data transmission rate can reach 20Gbps, mainly through two 10Gbps channels, equivalent to twice the USB 3.2 Gen 2, using TYPE-C interface. However, the current USB 3.2 standard incorporates the old USB 3.0/3.1 interface into the USB 3.2 standard. The USB 3.1 interface is renamed USB 3.2 Gen 2 and the USB 3.0 interface is renamed USB 3.2 Gen 1.
The USB 3.2 standard also includes some old USB 3.1/3.0 standards. For example, the original USB 3.0 interface will be called USB 3.2 Gen1 under the new standard, while the original USB 3.1 will be renamed USB 3.2 Gen 2. As for the newly released USB 3.2, it is called USB 3.2 Gen 2*2 because of doubling the channels, or you can call them SuperSpeed USB, SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps and SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps.
